Please refer to your letter 54447/3/48 of the 29th November last about the Soviet wrecks "Simferopol" and Svirstroi."

I enclose a copy of the Note on this subject which our Embassy in Moscow transmitted to the Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 21st December. You will see that the Embassy have been somewhat over-explicit in "outlining the present position" as we requested, but I hope that no great harm has been done, and it is in any case too late to rectify it now!

I am sending a copy of this letter with enclosure to the Ministry of Transport, and am sorry that we have no extra copy available for Hong Kong.
